a little chaos, just what i needed

on wednesday afternoon i was whisked away from the farm...by my brothers jim and thom and thom's girlfriend emily. thom's band, bon savants (for everyone not quite up to date with things like super-famous bands), would be playing in seattle that night and portland the next. the perfect excuse, i'd say, to endulge in a couple nights of partying like a rock star (which i'm very good at.) the night in seattle consisted of over-priced but tasty sushi that left us hungry for some wine and cheese bought at a convenience store which the three pictured above drank and ate on the streets while checking out a blue tree and loitering quite loudly under an open residential window and what else? a no loitering sign. yes, we're just that good. the seattlites only allowed the band a 30 minute set, but it rocked the house, none the less. then what better way to end the night than a 3.5 hour drive back to my sister's house in Oregon City? that's what we thought as the two brothers took turns driving and emily and i tried to stay aware of nodding heads and swerving. fun!the next day was spent with sarah and her family and showing emily such important oregon sights as the end of the oregon trail museum (the outside is quite lovely) and the oregon city goodwill...until we finally headed to portland that evening where we dropped thom off so that jim, emily, mom and i could find more food and wine (consumed mostly in the (stopped of course) car this night, in front of the Tonic Lounge). then everyone started to arrive...people from all parts of my life it was like a crazy reunion, but only really for me! my whole family, ashley, friend of years and years, her college friends i've known a few years or less, and of course, my zoe from boston and the others from boston and woah woah it was my whole life combined all into one bar in portland, OR. crazy ass shit. ha but really. it was awesome. the show was so good and longer and the morans filled the dance floor. yeah baby. then i cried when we all had to leave each other and i realized i would not see the bostonians for quite a long time. but you know, it was a couple f-in great nights.
