Mates of State vs. Black Kids

Here's my main beef: on the MoS/Black kids tour, i guess the bands took turns closing each night. my question is: WTF??? i hate that the boston show was a BK headliner. just disturbing. it was nearly 2 weeks ago, yes, but i've been quite busy and havent had the chance to rant about it yet so here goes:

Mates of State have been around years longer, have millions of better songs (BK's have one hit and they played it last knowing that people would leave early if they played it any sooner), and are talented and genuinely enthusiastic about their work and performance. Black kids are a few hipster prima donnas who havent been famous for a year but definitely have the potential to be a one hit wonder. they take an hour between acts to prep the stage (not themselves of course, much to famous for that difficult labor) and dont even have mates of state join them in an encore. few people thoroughly enjoyed the show until they finally played 'i'm not gonna teach your bf how to dance with you,' and up until then i was completely creeped out by the lead singer's glued-on jeans (yes, you could see his balls), NOT to mention his scummy demeanor and habit of calling band mates as well as audience members 'baby.' sick. Ashley was creeped out as well, obviously, but i'm positive we couldnt have been the only ones to notice. Mates of State will live on, adding to the plethora of unique, interesting and truly worthy tracks that never get old.

i love a couple of awesome people who make music together and love what they do. i do not love hipster creeps. simple.
